SVR Exit Devices

SVR exit devices, or service vertical rod exit devices, are one of the three types of exit devices. It is constructed with vertical rods that are available in concealed or surface versions and connects the pushpad to the top and bottom latches.

Rim exit devices are one of the three types of exit devices. It’s typically mounted on the inside surface of an out-swinging door and can be used on both single doors, as well as double doors.

Mortise exit devices are one of the three types of exit devices. This lock-style exit incorporates a mortise lock, often being installed on the active leaf of a pair of double doors.

Cylindrical locks are designed to be installed through a door with a knob or lever on either side that retract the latch when turned or depressed. The main advantage is its relatively quick installation.

A mortise lock is one that requires a pocket—the mortise—to be cut into the door where the lock is to be fitted. A mortise lock installation will include the lock body, lock trim, strike plate, and keyed cylinder.

A door closer protects your investment by closing doors in a controlled manner and preventing it from slamming. They’re common on commercial doors and can withstand a great deal of use.

Often used on sets of double doors, like French doors, flush bolts are attached to the door that is inactive the majority of the time. Flush bolts are recessed into the door’s edge and slide upward or downward into the jamb.

Astragals are an often forgotten piece of hardware, but it doesn’t make them any less important. They are used on a pair of doors to seal the gap between the doors when they are closed.

Weather stripping is the process of sealing excess openings on doors from the outdoor elements, while keeping the interior air in to save on the cost of heating and air conditioning. We have everything you need to accomplish this!

Like weather stripping, thresholds are also an important factor in the energy efficiency of your building. They are a strip of wood or metal that runs across the bottom of an entry door frame to protect from weather, pests, and so on.

Sweeps & door bottoms are another option to seal the gaps between the bottom of the door and the interior of your building, protecting it  from moisture, dust, insects, and other weather elements.

Push/pulls allow you to operate the door by pushing it or pulling it as your enter or exit through the opening. While self-explanatory, push/pulls go by many names (door trim, protective plates, etc.) and have many varieties.

By installing kick plates on a door, you are protecting your investment. They’re located on the bottom of the door’s push side to help reduce the amount of damage and stress your door takes over time.

A door coordinator is like the hall monitor of doors. It ensures that double doors close in the proper order for latching to occur. Like most of our hardware, it does the job, so you don’t have to!

Continuous hinges are also known as piano hinges. They run the entire length of the door and can be manufactured with or without holes. We offer them in a variety of thicknesses, pin diameters, and knuckle lengths.

Full mortise hinges are a plate hinge, designed to have one or both leaves mortised into the door. The hinge sits flush with the surface of the door frame, making it perfect for clients focused on aesthetics.

Half mortise hinges, or butt hinges, are another type of hinge. Unlike full mortise hinges, they have one leaf mounted to the visible front of the frame, while the other is mounted in a hinge prep on the edge of the door.

Full surface hinges are just that. Both leaves are mounted to the surface, with one on the door itself and the other on the door frame. These hinges are completely visible when the door is closed and cannot be concealed.

Half surface hinges are applied with one leaf mortised into the door frame and the other surface applied to the edge of the door. Like full surface hinges, they are also visible to the passerby and cannot be concealed.

Often used in hospitals and other institutional buildings, swing clear full mortise hinges allow doors to swing open at 180 degrees. They allow fluid movements in and out of doorways by providing clear trajectories.

Spring hinges are self-closing hinges and ensure that the door automatically closes without having to push or pull. It utilizes a spring mechanism within the barrel, allowing the hinges to automatically close a door.

Last but certainly not least, mullions are an integral part of the frame between a set of two doors. The mullion separates the doors and allows them to become single doors within the frame, so foot-traffic can flow smoothly.

Similar to kick plates, door stops are a method to reduce the strain your door takes with heavy usage. A door stop is a device used to hold a door open or closed, or to prevent a door from opening too widely.
