Himmel’s is a growing organization with locations in New Orleans, Prairieville, Houston, and Nashville. We pride ourselves as door-opening experts, not simply a construction material supplier. Our family-owned and operated company is seeking an Inventory and Receiving Specialist to join our team at our Houston, TX, Location! Our delivery team is the lifeline directly to our customers. The driver position is expected to work as a valued member of the Warehouse Operations. This position is scheduled Monday - Thursday, 7 am – 4:30 pm, and Friday, 7 am – 3:30 pm, with occasional overtime required.

Summary/Objective

This position receives, stores, and distributes material, tools, equipment, and products within the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all job functions.

Essential Functions

  • Mark materials with identifying information using the appropriate methods.
  • Open bales, crates, and other containers.
  • Prepare parcels for mailing or shipping.
  • Accurately enter material received from vendors into proprietary software system
  • Scan vendor packing slips into the system.
  • Effectively communicate with project managers about any incoming material and replacement products
  • Assist in completing stock transfers between Himmel’s locations.
  • Print weekly vendor reports for the warehouse on arriving material.
  • Perform inventory cycle counts per cycle count schedule
  • Create shipments for material returning to factories
  • Assist accounting with taking/uploading material pictures for invoicing.
  • Wear the proper safety equipment.

Work Environment
This position works in a warehouse setting, with some outdoor exposure during the workday. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines, and standard warehouse equipment such as hand trucks, box cutters and tape dispensers.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to stand, walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to sit and climb or balance. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 100 pounds.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work
This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday.

 

Required Education and Experience
1. High school diploma or GED, or equivalent years of experience.

2. Forklift experience is a must.
